- Hi, you are younger than my son. are you are immigrant or foreign student? I don't think that certificate is needed to apply for the first year apprenticeship of electrician. If you don't want to go to university or college, you may have to find a company to hire 1st year apprenticeship. You are young, I am sure if you want to be an electrician, you will be but it takes time.
