EDMONTON — Southgate Centre today began a $108 million expansion to accommodate more than 30 new retailers and restaurants.& s: {) u' e u2 }0 p9 D

The two-year project, facing 111th Street, will add 126,000 square feet of leasable space on the ground floor — and two levels of parking above.) h% M, Q4 a! i3 A2 k. V

“Part of the redevelopment will include enhanced site lighting and closed-circuit TV security systems monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Southgate general manager Paul Fairbridge.

It also will include hotel-quality washrooms and private sitting rooms for nursing mothers.6 T$ _; i! U5 V* h
