3 L4 x! a1 H0 D# I4 y' X8 ?9 b! ?3 pAccording to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.

2 f% R* x; _6 u/ K% |- j0 h2 ?She lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.

: l) P: j% G8 H" ^) j5 E+ PThe man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.# j- L( Y" a Y4 C; ]; f
' c9 s( c6 W( t# a( i. nSearch efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.

, e2 P/ g8 S" ]1 O+ o% bA Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Search efforts are still underway, as well as an RCMP investigation. (Nelly Gonzalez/CBC )

Rivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
