买房时的“survey"是啥？

看到网上有关于验房的帖子这样讲：“买的房子必须有surey，切记，切记。啥都能修，房子倒了可以重盖，买房不要survey，死定了。所有人，包括验房师，宰你没商量。”  搞不懂啥是”survey"? 哪位大大帮忙给咱讲一下？感谢！

land survey is to determine the exact location of your property line
