Job Description
& P+ L' k/ C* T) [9 @3 t7 {1 i- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
, E! l' X- Q3 U9 v7 _0 I- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
, ?8 }0 q5 x9 X4 c# G/ s- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
+ _" B x4 P* s/ U. ?; W- provide support to ISP staff
& e( v' }! V5 k5 K. T- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members, t+ E! L1 [# k
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities( _/ u; t7 |# k7 p$ ]. ?
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
4 g3 i$ `- x, y2 A6 {" ^- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
* M3 @. D& q" Q9 ]1 K4 ]- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
$ r, B6 e. Z+ x% ?) Y4 w" U- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
3 }1 W* n+ o* [# e- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.7 C7 G4 O1 k9 P5 f( ^5 Y+ V
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities$ b* E8 A0 ~6 A4 J
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

. _% n9 ^0 H& TQualifications
4 V' ^+ m- X4 W3 ]7 ^2 D- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
. N6 e$ J$ O+ B6 c# |- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available: J3 u3 i: w! y8 M
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
+ Q5 D4 @/ p/ F \9 p* x6 v- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software; S+ I/ D1 U; ^: {- v# d I
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred) D1 J; h2 A0 D$ N2 W
- good interpersonal and people skills
