Job Description
4 c6 _/ X) K6 S- W, C( x  z% [- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
! X( V0 c7 ]3 [- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
5 T* Z, Q7 a' n; i5 `$ J- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
: o1 s# @4 h, t, v/ b  _. K- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
  x$ P, l6 }, N- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
& }, t1 F, f( g# Z3 {% |- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
- `9 o5 H# P# C- u1 Z4 _( d, c- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
5 v& M$ _8 L3 q1 X; A8 C& n4 J- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
9 f+ \& G$ {6 q) [9 R+ X- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
. H6 Y# b5 ]3 [1 b; F- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- good interpersonal and people skills
- good organizational and coordination skills
- valid driver’s license

Salary
- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
