Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description
& C" G: b# L: s8 [( b0 N$ s1 m- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
1 F5 Q$ F6 f8 B: z& ~8 Z-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
/ {& s3 T2 z2 G, g) X4 b- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
8 L7 D! ^2 ^) J9 [- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
/ K' U% Q0 P1 U6 G% D& c& r1 P- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
# F5 g) A# G1 s6 J& N' w" {5 V  l. H- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
( T6 w) x/ P1 e9 [/ y$ |$ P: q- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
, x4 F& v  D" P3 E- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
9 d- e/ N7 T: x1 }- other duties as assigned

  K; s  Z, p* b3 N1 L- M3 r- wQualifications
/ a/ Q( G5 T" p0 W- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
" [# P0 V1 R. g- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
* t; r, v, c: h- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- good interpersonal and people skills
- good organizational and coordination skills

- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense
