Job Description
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
6 o( `! L1 \) N0 H  A- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
5 e- m. i9 _+ W- F# S3 i- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
. \. S9 [9 j  H* ^, `9 w- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
- _: X( E/ }/ |& u- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

- a  j( l* [' Y8 w3 z3 ~' Q' qQualifications
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
7 c4 \: M1 p# v4 Z9 Q7 [) r; u- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
9 i) W$ G8 ~/ d7 D) K4 K& ~, X, d( r- good interpersonal and people skills
  o! z" q7 t9 o% ]- good organizational and coordination skills
# B3 R7 F7 N) E/ v- valid driver’s license

Other
- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Salary
- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
