Job Description
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
* N6 I4 L) ^4 O" L# P- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
7 U6 u8 m  u% \-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
; S' I2 _- R8 ^8 Z& G- m0 w0 q- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
7 r0 Q" }- p1 `! O* \- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
. [+ B( S0 ~$ Q* D, |( ?- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
' k, U' b  f; x- L- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
. f8 x1 r5 p2 N! U& G: N- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
. A' z( o1 Q' N! C  R/ }& e! z- V! `- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
+ b) X+ J& F3 d9 }- G; i! x( \- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

! V0 I4 g6 H6 A( \5 w5 j- ZQualifications
, Z) F: U/ I( r8 C) O8 c4 e- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
0 Y2 K3 h8 r: R0 l* r- y3 U- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
4 n! h  N, J1 O- p4 V- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
$ |, `: u7 k0 w8 z7 [- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
7 j% l# j) U/ Q- good interpersonal and people skills
0 \" c7 u& y' s  o2 R- good organizational and coordination skills
; l/ u) \9 G: |. e! ?% b- valid driver’s license

- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
