To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:
: g8 q: t' N; v! r7 N' v) F8 X% R- K' c, K% q
have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician ' K( V! [1 B9 f9 f5 D
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.

& V9 C+ q5 o p3 m4 Y1 wcomplete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office, @* \ u F+ i5 A& D6 a

Z2 }/ K2 m" B( xThis application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination.
