To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:

. t b) r% i3 i7 chave at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician / X* T% ]: n0 ]- d0 o7 n( I Q0 T9 L
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.4 w2 b$ ?( b& k. w5 M. W5 H& E* ~
% T5 Q4 \0 D& S3 z+ X+ Qcomplete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office8 Z8 z5 U J) C, o/ l J& ]
: x3 M1 s9 m+ }) l9 o- {pay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above
% f* M0 G, a1 ], T( \7 A( B( gThis application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
