Canada’s first comprehensive Digital Economy Strategy, we need to look

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has- H" ~. h* B7 D% F$ g
chosen to examine these concerns that the government shares with a large6 O, y' W* H5 y
number of Canadians. Details of the CRTC consultation are available at

When the CRTC reaches a final decision following its consultations, the" u8 c0 X! a q" ~ J
government will carefully assess the CRTC position to ensure that it is in
4 a T2 A* i# z. Iline with the best interests of Canadian consumers and encourages Z2 ? G& x4 b) a! w
competition among internet service providers. I will be recommending that
5 N% I7 O7 w, \' Z [1 A% Fany decision counter to these foundational principles be reversed. o4 L1 l7 S" D" ~: T. i7 Z9 e
