Wow. In edmonton, if we're talking about academics, then it is definitely going to be in the following order
* L; y3 d3 g7 w7 U, ^+ N% \% y# ~7 E6 }' z8 A6 S) z! g
1) Old Scona Academic: q4 r. S; d3 q
2) Harry Ainlay
* I4 P/ {$ l" ^: A4 S3) Arch Bishop MacDonald
2 r$ p- i) W9 \2 K8 a( r/ L6 J& E
$ b! P4 V; h& D1 qStrathcona is more known for being a "jock" school - in other words, very athletic. It was also more populated with caucasians... I don't know if that's changed in the last 4/5 years... maybe there are more asians there now? Don't know. 9 t. ~8 n1 |3 f8 O
1 \6 K4 b9 K$ p& ~Anyways, besides Strathcona being well known for sports, I have never really heard of it being well known for other attributes... Yes there is an AP program, but as far as I know, IB (as offered by Harry Ainlay) is still more renowned. Also... Harry Ainlay has a french immersion program. :)7 i& p/ G, q. j5 \- d) G: Z

: r0 p8 V# _) D) S) E: p9 ]Vic Comp used to be attractive for "artsy students", but now, the new Lillian Osbourne has taken its ranks for being an artsy school...

& [' u4 \( G) o, g5 NLike I said, I graduated from high school a few years ago, maybe rankings have changed. But when I was in high school, this is what the schools I previously named above were well-known for. Hope this helped! |
