The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit

, d8 y$ }3 u8 d5 K  ]- Kvolunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
2 k7 a9 X* L2 }4 i) Borganizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
sustainable communities.

$ n5 h0 v% g- p) D8 `- X6 EPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
, ^# B' O5 |* w4 J* Qnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
0 Z# f/ b. T& w6 Vpolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

5 N% A5 G& u; W7 x! C+ r, UPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
. u& _5 P* U2 k! o6 I+ P" Omedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
* f+ |' Z; \1 t( |! Q7 }& qfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
9 f% }1 m- _: Pservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

0 a' ^8 x; y% S6 g: ]9 l1 xIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
( m6 s  V  j* X! Dthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
0 x& ^+ j. U9 D0 u/ D$ ]that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
) z& O% k: D+ ^' G* Hpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
with youth.
