Calgary police have now laid charges against an 18-year-old Calgary woman following the death of a little girl at a crosswalk in the city's northwest." J7 P# m2 Y5 Y/ v5 ]
Police Sgt. Doug McIlwraith said Tuesday that Angela Ta has been charged with passing a motor vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk, failing to yield at a crosswalk, and careless driving.( q0 ]& n* j! M- b: h# {
McIlwraith says the charges could mean a licence suspension, a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.4 p% \2 N7 x2 B' H" J1 f3 w' V) s
Six-year-old Jenna Chang and her mother, Ye Qiao, were struck Jan. 18 by a black BMW while using a marked crosswalk at 32 Avenue and 37 Street N.W.
