　　North country scene:
                                                                                               
. }* D+ t& N9 b2 \- P　　A hundred leagues locked in ice,
+ k, a' X/ t7 j7 }
　　A thousand leagues of whirling snow.
& a, y. @- D" M6 s% _5 ?
　　Both sides of the Great Wall
8 \* P9 O- M+ ~
　　One single white immensity.

& r0 t  B- Z5 f' G! A; i) G　　The Yellow River"s swift current
7 `/ B) o$ c5 J" i+ j# l
　　Is stilled from end to end.

　　The mountains dance like silver snakes
  t  _$ g2 B3 q6 P5 O* F" n2 U
　　And the highlands* charge like wax-hued elephants,

; W4 A$ @- Q! z. _: p- \7 _  c; r　　Vying with heaven in stature.

　　On a fine day, the land,

. }2 @5 A, H4 S1 q# ?+ f7 L5 V! r　　Clad in white, adorned in red,
4 r9 Q4 z' Y; l, c  n2 F
　　Grows more enchanting.

. M9 I) O0 M( |/ w2 j　　This land so rich in beauty

　　Has made countless heroes bow in homage.
* \& f( Q7 m, J- c5 Q: }' D* T' l; y
　　But alas! Chin Shih-huang and Han Wu-ti

　　Were lacking in literary grace,
+ Q9 q+ t$ u% x% ~( _
　　And Tang Tai-tsung and Sung Tai-tsu
) h7 p+ i& u; D6 v7 }2 n
　　Had little poetry in their souls;
2 E+ C' S5 d7 C& {: T　　And Genghis Khan,

3 c$ l% |; S9 I. G( k& k. ?0 z　　Proud Son of Heaven for a day,

. c% Z, M' R& b8 |! j; X! g, x　　Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched

$ }3 n! _" D2 r( x# v" F' ~7 K　　All are past and gone!

3 \' M$ K3 Y/ ?+ ~5 A　　Look to this age alone.

　　须晴日 看红装素裹 分外妖娆

　　江山如此多妖 引无数英雄竞折腰 惜秦皇汉武 略输文采
