The Alberta Tories continue to slide, while the NDP surges and the Wildrose maintains the lead, according to the latest election poll released Tuesday morning.

The NDP is dominating Edmonton at 51%, according to the survey, and is in a three-way race in Calgary.

8 f5 k; V; V# ~The telephone poll of 3,121 Albertans conducted Monday showed that compared to a week earlier:

Wildrose is flat with 24% support1 A, g( Y& ~6 O i! ], M: C. c
NDP increased to 23% support, up 3%" Y+ j" P8 c0 P2 z: b( S
The PCs dropped to 18%, down 3%! t6 K& U: i- D( ?4 z( \9 }
Liberal support is down a point, to 8%8 D1 N' C1 \2 T6 C6 y# l+ P( z, e1 @
The Alberta Party is up a point to 3%8 g3 R$ x- C u# F2 E" N n
The survey was conducted by Mainstreet Technologies.

4 u, l/ j% v* f- ~ P1 N) `“One thing is becoming clear at this stage of the campaign, the effect of the budget and residual anger to the governing PCs will have a lasting impact on the outcome of this election,” said Mainstreet’s Quito Maggi.' h0 R% v& g3 V( W# l \' j7 ?
* e7 O: W4 O6 i* n“Although the Wildrose continue to lead, their support is flat and may have no room to grow. The NDP are definitely contenders and have the momentum.”8 w9 f4 x% R/ V! ^% B

The NDP showed a whopping 51% support in Edmonton, to the Tory’s 21% and and Wildrose 10%.
