Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

" k/ u$ l' e7 C% eKey Responsibilities & Duties:

* H( Q. Y# n+ D- Q Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
4 D& Z; T* P' z% j0 e  F5 h Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
: y8 f+ ]2 o: m8 |% ^+ L+ r& F! O% z Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
& h. N/ {  o. Q Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
% s9 t- X% l" K8 w" z# C$ T Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
( J1 j" [; s' {  t! ` Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
. l2 l$ |. p6 X  ?3 G" I; @ Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
3 C' F" u, R7 gThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
, l9 J4 t* |2 Nstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
