Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.2 U9 e- R( D8 I" ~0 q
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.5 t. @5 a, ?. @3 L# N7 o, |; B
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

$ `) c0 d* w! v4 r Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
) n% a2 \* v& U% W1 b Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner., u$ W1 H! N5 ^4 p. n
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

Qualifications:

' H+ K' G" G8 v5 [; S5 [, x$ i- A Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.7 T- Q8 ?" ~, o! E+ V
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
: U% o2 d3 F, T- t Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
) B' _) e- R8 a- W& S3 |9 |' M Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.* ` {/ ~" a4 a' O, P# E
 Knowledge of community resources.& ]2 a1 k9 O- |
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
7 t! Z' G# D+ a, r2 p Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
& ]/ m W# ~1 _This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
- I9 n% W% @$ Jstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
