Key Responsibilities & Duties:

% D: i( P. a$ ?& h7 K Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
( j# p" D& c, K6 d# D2 @! A Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
9 t6 L- j; O6 h Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
  V  }* d3 ~8 _$ Z3 R! n Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

& _+ @, Q" x4 e; [0 @3 C Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
% l) u- P! l! g% a' s3 u Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
! O3 k8 m" C! ], P: a Knowledge of community resources.
$ d3 a4 j5 G: E; U' ~0 K, v- B Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
; `, r; q, T: D% F7 m1 v0 r) I Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
; h8 m9 Q6 K$ [) v/ Z0 L% Istarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
