Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
, X) J" Q6 ]$ P0 A6 ~0 D- H Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
3 d% e& p5 Q2 y6 Q' F* S Completing required paperwork.
$ ~' P) O( x7 r5 P Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
2 |4 ?+ k7 ]6 ^4 S Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
1 a# [( ^: H' X# [+ `- x; O Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
5 d  _/ P; N5 c/ m6 X9 | Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
5 [7 Q6 V) s2 m/ |( q5 Y Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

+ p! W9 y3 f. `# S Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
/ S3 K. a* _; Q$ h7 `: N; G  L Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
& g- H, E  `( z/ Q6 ?* rThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
