Key Responsibilities & Duties:
2 C! z8 M/ D* o7 ?+ `% D
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
( O+ W2 M6 |4 [9 ?; E Completing required paperwork.
$ `) c0 d* w! v4 r Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
) n% a2 \* v& U% W1 b Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
5 l2 ~, n0 L( |' H) G  X$ C5 T Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
8 s5 W% r5 x. T; u2 P Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
/ j$ J5 [* q8 p* N0 k1 I9 @8 Q
' H+ K' G" G8 v5 [; S5 [, x$ i- A Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
: U% o2 d3 F, T- t Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
) B' _) e- R8 a- W& S3 |9 |' M Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
7 t! Z' G# D+ a, r2 p Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
& ]/ m  W# ~1 _This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
- I9 n% W% @$ Jstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
