Key Responsibilities & Duties:

# L; Z8 B& T) s3 g Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
( _' D; E0 ], h) }: V' y) Q  P Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
' N" B" d  x; e4 r Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
/ ]. p& A* Q" C' ` Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
4 j5 u* ]. B$ V4 y* U6 z. ^) l Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

7 _& l: L6 e1 c" A' hQualifications:

8 J- t) [* d2 r# `4 U/ r Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
0 Z$ k* R9 F9 c Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
% k/ W4 V( q1 W7 H9 ^ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
% M9 C- D5 @1 ~! o! O Knowledge of community resources.
3 r/ W0 \6 A4 }+ A% S# M  P Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
( s" e" z# o/ S Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
