 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
: X1 s- H! p$ ]" ?$ x Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
- \; M2 y7 h% N5 F) ?4 O- y/ ` Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

1 V0 I& G2 k" W4 w- Z Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
" O4 u! {+ M/ e) P1 Y' F Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
+ w+ [: u. S$ j+ _; Z$ `) K7 U1 M5 c1 k Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. 8 F3 e" c9 W( o
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.0 ]2 A0 e' R, R5 I
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
' T4 d# Q# ?* @( k5 H \3 Q Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:# Y- h9 @, n' D, l" G$ a' |9 J
2 v& i1 R2 ~% \& b) t7 j+ k1 F' s Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
2 I' f/ ~8 p2 X0 R Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.7 _& q/ m9 D$ @6 g I
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
: a! h1 W# {) i1 M) D7 g Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.4 }3 x$ n8 c) O: N S" g
 Knowledge of community resources.
+ e( f0 O7 _. l8 L6 ?$ Z Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.% |9 _- a$ \% D8 _
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. j4 I) S& M" W' _1 }' x" N
! T3 m/ B6 Q) W1 pPosition:
9 X; ~$ i- p% c1 _6 uThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; ( W6 C3 f) B0 I5 W5 V" r/ h
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
