% j/ a7 e3 z' O1 q7 j! TJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
. r# ^+ C& ~' A3 B5 h8 cOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
' \5 F( q2 ~. \! b) rprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
cleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
2 e4 X0 X: Y0 P% A# i5 q) @beverage items.

9 W6 t3 D7 a* N4 l, {2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
bar and debit floats.
3 y, x2 }: k( m7 Z
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
each shift, and upon closing.

4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
. i5 n" o! C  uattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
# K, P9 n8 E/ E  t  iseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
  g4 \0 }' s) V7 t5 bstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

, p3 y6 G& v* Q+ z4 M0 B5 Y# F6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
$ a8 g1 F' z: `7 H" I' n8 G; d. Laccordance with Students' Union policies.

5 n5 T! `3 E2 y/ @* L7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
# O  B: C$ b6 Y% n/ M3 G& _ To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
) u6 _" M1 e: B* WAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
7 F( A4 B3 s, LSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
# B7 _1 v2 O. _3 C, M1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
( |! `' Z, V# x) }- C, {9 c0 N8 S
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
, g' _* N5 ]  ?( K6 f1 ~+ zoperation.
# X) P0 A8 x( a9 ]9 \
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
; W- L, s/ C3 Qaccordance with Students' Union policy.

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.
; f; U7 K: h9 r) e4 E
! B" l  E/ v1 ?! d/ C' @' d5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
  O: g# g0 B4 N3 {# \+ J% f6 A' O  OUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
attitude.

Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
# n( H5 s; Z) i" H3 apurchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
