BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  
/ p& L- L* c/ @( ~7 othrough Friday+ [/ ?( U; U0 \% i) b& ^2 q

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  8 J2 _! O, ]* b# d. U" H. i
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
/ h; X+ y: \& S  R8 l7 |procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  8 g, I4 ^; t3 [0 s) I, M, ]
cleanliness and order in the bar.4 J6 U) t5 m/ S0 e

9 B/ L6 ?6 F- D8 q6 aDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:' e% {3 J; X* B0 S0 B% D
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  " F5 H4 m6 R$ J7 {
beverage items.
5 o/ b) Y. l7 Z) Y4 C1 V+ b' t
# X6 I# k) _) E" r  M* `2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  % q- V: \" W4 ^% [
bar and debit floats.% d# G) W6 b+ g. I

2 K. b: g: l, V) b% o6 ~# v3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
8 K2 W( D# |/ |2 n) @2 R4 ]each shift, and upon closing.- {0 [9 s5 M1 b& s$ q

; k9 j/ Y  L! h4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
# I5 ~; m* A% |2 rattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  9 E. j) U% v  v6 Q) n
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

, F% B  _% z* \5 ~5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
3 l( P6 d3 g0 {% H- Astorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  . l0 Y1 n( G8 m
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.! o/ H, V( v' O; l' ~% ~. P/ [

9 U% s# A" |; E3 f6 j6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  . J: k; O) v* H$ b; I8 l" O9 w
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  ( h# O. a0 x  Z2 A+ z9 j4 E
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
1 F& H7 U  a+ ?9 C3 T% Z  caccordance with Students' Union policies.
) _7 i& S) B0 j/ I2 v+ d% Q: F8 y- j9 K$ m
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  - s+ X7 z! Z( p  e9 _
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.. p1 F! j3 j" Y2 W9 e

) @0 J, _( h- [3 j9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,

QUALIFICATIONS:
1 H/ }' o" H4 D  O9 H1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.$ _  I% E% C+ I: ^

3 ~3 _6 o$ W8 C" M3 k2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
3 J- k  _: L( p& j/ i( xoperation.
6 Q. Y8 H; ?! y2 K7 G! T. `7 I2 o  y/ k8 E
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  $ H* v- ~' c" v
accordance with Students' Union policy.

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.( W0 N% Y: v. {) ?

& [. n% y+ o2 bUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  4 M' m& |- R4 `" i
