Magrath/ MacTaggart Kindergarten afternoon care needed

2 S8 p) F* ?0 Q5 t; e+ I  L We live in Magrath Heights and we are currently struggling with our 5-year-old daughter's to Kindergarten registration.  I wonder if there are parents in Magrath, MacTaggart area who are struggling with this issue as well. I wish to explore possibilities to group up and help each other out on making our lives easier with the half-day kindergarten program.

Anyone concerned and/or more experienced handling this situation are welcomed to join in this discussion:

To kick it off, here are my two cents.

* k, Z( x+ s9 L5 R! T We need to make up our mind as to which school to register to since one kid can only send in ONE registration at a time, and it can be really hard to switch school in the middle of the year. Currently there are two options for my daughter:

' g/ l3 ~# t, ?! w; l' Z7 F( kOption 1: Regular program - a new school - Nellie Carlson(http://www.epsb.ca/schools/newsc ... ions/nelliecarlson/) is under construction and scheduled to open September 2016; boundaries not finalized yet.
; q5 f! O+ Y/ @3 H# L  @ No on site child care available.

. s  d& ?$ F. A& K! a% i IF we fall under the final boundary, what to do with the afternoons? My husband and I both work full-time 30 minutes drive from home. I maybe able to take one afternoon off in a week, part-time is not likely an option.

7 A! w- q  [# ?# x; |8 u6 m* J$ }Option 2: Mandarin Bilingual program - Parkallen School where there is a YMCA KinderCare close by, $755 a month, AND there is a wait list.
+ s3 }: s6 ~. t6 h6 [% a- t1 [ Honestly, I wish to send my daughter to the Mandarin Bilingual school, but again, there is the afternoon issue, YMCA is not guaranteed and expensive. I wonder if there are other parents considering this school and we could come up with a program to support each other and incorporate with Chinese elements.
