Brainstorm: Magrath MacTaggart area: Kindergarten options and struggle

% [, @3 w5 M; ]7 K4 C$ s+ K6 QWe live in Magrath Heights and we are currently struggling with our 5-year-old daughter's to Kindergarten registration.  I wonder if there are parents in Magrath, MacTaggart area who are struggling with this issue as well. I wish to explore possibilities to group up and help each other out on making our lives easier with the half-day kindergarten program.

To kick it off, here are my two cents.

8 l" f. b( X/ z8 ?  ^- y2 A7 hWe need to make up our mind as to which school to register to since one kid can only send in ONE registration at a time, and it can be really hard to switch school in the middle of the year. Currently there are two options for my daughter:

8 f4 Q0 W. x; t& t) L. Y' yOption 1: Regular program - a new school - Nellie Carlson(http://www.epsb.ca/schools/newsc ... ions/nelliecarlson/) is under construction and scheduled to open September 2016; boundaries not finalized yet.
No on site child care available.

: O2 a: |" x* T: o$ x* k9 AIF we fall under the final boundary, what to do with the afternoons? My husband and I both work full-time 30 minutes drive from home. I maybe able to take one afternoon off in a week, part-time is not likely an option.

4 \" @$ }# A! t& ~; i) i' f& r$ pOption 2: Mandarin Bilingual program - Parkallen School where there is a YMCA KinderCare close by, $755 a month, AND there is a wait list.
( g$ h* Y5 R: e8 y" f8 v2 |Honestly, I wish to send my daughter to the Mandarin Bilingual school, but again, there is the afternoon issue, YMCA is not guaranteed and expensive. I wonder if there are other parents considering this school and we could come up with a program to support each other and incorporate with Chinese elements.
