make sure your child has:
1. Non-marking indoor shoes, appropriate for a school gymnasium. These can be the same shoes he uses for the games.
2. Shin pads.
3. Soccer socks (which go over top of the shin pads). Any colour will do, and some kids enjoy going wild, but in my opinion solid black looks best.
4. A water bottle.

Also, please encourage your children to use the bathroom at home before every game and practice so there are less interruptions during our 1-hour blocks of time together.

2012 - 2013 GYM RULES

1.  No team (DEF: coach, player, parent, spectator) shall not do or permit to be done in the facility anything which may render void or voidable any insurance policy(ies).
2.  A team is prohibited from:
• the possession or sale of alcohol;
• the sale of merchandise;
• any advertising
3.  A team shall comply with all posted rules at the facility.
4.  A team shall not impede access to the gym by any facility authorized personnel.
5.  Each coach will be held responsible for the behaviour of its team including the financial consequences of any damage.
6.  The City can terminate the facility contract if a team fails to comply with the directions of the facility operator.
7.  A team shall forfeit its practices if it fails to adhere to City and SWEMSA directions with respect to the use of the facility.
8.  The team shall be solely responsible for any equipment it brings to the facility, and for their removal after each practice.
9.  A team shall provide sixteen (16) clear days written notice if it wishes to cancel a practice. Notice must be sent to: swemsa@gmail.com.
10.  A team which fails to provide the stated cancellation time notice, shall be responsible for any cost associated with the short cancellation notice.
11. Consideration will be given to cancellations due to inclement weather provided the team notifies JANICE by 12 noon of the day of the booking.
12. Facility doors will be open ten (10) minutes before and re-locked ten (10) minutes after the commencement time of the practice. The date will be considered a “no show” if the team fails to report during this time. There is a cost for no shows.

13. All teams shall vacate the booked space no later than the end time of their practice, and entirely leave the school no later than ten (10) minutes after the end of their time.
14. No food or drink is permitted during practice. All schools are non-smoking.
15.  Teams shall have a first aid kit on hand and should have someone available on hand who is able to administer elementary first aid. Call 911 for serious injuries.
16. The supervisor of the team (coach, asst. coach or manager) must identify himself to the custodian on duty.
17. The supervisor must inspect the gym/washroom for any safety hazards.
18. Any damage and/or safety issues must immediately be reported to the facility staff by each supervisor, and to JANICE at swemsa@gmail.com that evening.
19. All team members are restricted to the gym, washroom and entrance areas. No one is permitted to wander around the school except the coach/ac/manager who may wish to talk to the custodian.
20. The team management must supervise the facility entrance to prevent unauthorized persons from entering the building.
21. Each team must assign a parent to handle entry and exit of players and parents at all times.
22. Street shoes are not permitted in the gyms.
23. All footwear worn in the gym must be clean, non-marking and soft soled.
24. Wet footwear is prohibited in gyms.  Footwear must be changed at the entrance.
24. Practice sessions must be controlled and not haphazard or undisciplined.
25. Any equipment moved around in a gym such as benches, must be returned to their original location.
26. Team management must check the gym before exiting to ensure no equipment, child or clothing is left behind.
