Employment Developer

 Set up and monitor work experience workplace training, job shadows, etc.

 Continually establish new contacts with employers in public and private sectors.

Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer% e- N; n) H3 n! m: B: E
 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.
# H8 c8 K0 N$ i! t6 K# V Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
$ G6 a- o( l3 i& R( h7 t0 } Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.5 H# m5 E) i1 V" J* D
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.
& J  r  |  ^& O! L* c& ?; q Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.
* s8 c1 a  ]: H- ]9 C Update and maintain job boards.

# G6 G# g" T9 a( f. I% L Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.2 [7 e& S4 J0 ]
 Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.. Z  Q$ Z5 J- S& y+ q
 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
1 I* }  h  x2 `  ]7 C Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.  r( ]0 `' m( g
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.

 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.
! W/ B* `1 s  h, z, g. ~ Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.$ W, Z% x, @2 w2 ~8 J5 v- t
 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.
; d; w+ i* @; X8 o" D Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.4 {9 C3 A) ?0 j" J0 t. l( y
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.
' r! T' l& z3 d  H' J# S- e Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.1 g8 |% h+ l2 C0 q& w' T
 Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system, r+ C  ^7 b. I  Q

 Ensure participants’ progress is tracked and recorded
9 \- j3 M4 W0 g; {! j' z% B( p. a Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan
# C) V9 h  S4 ?0 w& o( j Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
* n- E; n( U2 l/ ^+ w$ s' ]" M Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada0 Z9 ^0 y$ L7 `4 z$ I/ x
 Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants0 m) n7 y3 q3 _2 q' R
 Complete participant reviews with the participants

 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
