that we cannot support imposing a UBB business model on wholesale Internet

Our government recognizes that the Internet and digital technologies are
. Z4 a2 u" f8 i R% \! Ran increasingly important part of everyday life—including driving
! a# G8 N8 D. }, ^innovation, commerce and social interaction. As the government develops
% n& _0 P8 v% y9 JCanada’s first comprehensive Digital Economy Strategy, we need to look/ E4 f& M7 B- H8 S7 P
carefully at how issues like UBB affect the big picture. We will be
: H! \' N4 J" o9 U( `guided by our long-standing policies of encouraging competition and
# [9 W1 E( H2 B. }0 ginvestment, increasing consumer choice, minimizing regulation and allowing9 S7 r) X1 ]) s f

, Q% b' |6 ^" o- n: sThe Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has" ~& a! }" M1 r4 n
chosen to examine these concerns that the government shares with a large

When the CRTC reaches a final decision following its consultations, the
