$ }8 E- T" z0 s3 K) Z* ]% u2 M    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
  `* s( n  w3 k; b) y( V    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
4 ^8 M% y3 P. E1 O    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
3 A9 I$ `" n  U    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
/ q& J1 Y' _7 O: F2 |+ Y    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
. r: S( ]8 L* ?- N9 ?    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

" j+ v3 D, t# p' e1 t- w6 U    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
+ x3 A5 J8 Y/ ]6 S+ q    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
+ U, L" P9 p4 k2 }" I5 n    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
) b' Y9 Z: L( l% z    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
