    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
4 n' ]% Q! q" b7 X0 Q) q* M    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
# O7 L# j/ y8 q7 N& @    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
/ Q' B+ q/ V% P9 b+ n5 f% m$ ^    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
. f8 K9 k" a2 h+ W/ j, }    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
: Z% q; U( {) f6 R' J& I    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
8 }4 w( _) U4 l/ B' k1 J    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
& R( Y1 l" B7 x1 i    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
" I1 R9 w0 T; ?7 _& R2 Q0 |% ~    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
/ v3 L6 L' Y9 i# B" w! w$ e    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

* T, C; I# H7 w4 LQualifications

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies

" J6 U1 _: D7 p* B$ S& I( K5 n. ~% v    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
) x9 Y2 [7 |6 c6 r& V+ v    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
8 O- Z, ?' z5 m7 d! K0 ]" J    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
- u4 p' x4 Q4 B% X, t  m( E2 U    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
