    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region8 I+ J4 r( T" [2 z. Q
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
* Q; {- o& z: t& g3 R    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators% w. P$ a1 s' v# K# z# L! F
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations7 Z' _% H' ]1 V4 ^- Y: c  e
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
$ Q8 H7 o- a  b5 M4 u0 H6 K! X    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses: C+ E- z* _4 A- r3 E3 X
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth% y; y7 j# T0 s3 R' K( G1 S
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
1 N: c2 _% x2 c1 l: m' D    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
7 t5 T0 d. L' `4 @7 Q9 F. t+ ]  r    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports3 b3 [- {& S. \: R9 C: _
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs) o$ \$ I1 ?# _3 c5 i# a' T
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
  S; N5 w0 P# N6 _" Q. a    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications
. Y7 u2 O% c+ {8 p0 W' `" R
/ M' O( \% F8 g5 o# M6 O) s    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
& E9 e( i+ q5 E8 H5 _6 q; a9 o+ d    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
& o7 d: m" @" T    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies3 a/ P! ~- V+ W. P; }5 t
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs  i8 c/ {: z# v' s. H. a, X4 R8 a$ ?
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community, }9 E  W7 Y( |% m8 [& E( m
    * Fundraising skills an asset
& I  s8 x; W8 m% F    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
+ G! F) ~, G0 r) P8 G8 a    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills- u0 ^. T7 A/ N, z. a- Q
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
7 L4 R" N. t. t3 h) h' L    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
