* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region9 s$ u+ B: ^& m! S* C# y( b
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group; [& z h- ~# ~2 y( S! r
* Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
+ c- f3 D- [5 K * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
0 p# [! W N( V7 s3 C6 c * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
' p: o# X3 o0 [2 v# ?: p1 }9 n& d * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses8 D1 j0 V' g5 Z0 \9 q# H+ V' {
* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth0 X( R- v: N4 z0 ^ Y! H
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program4 t! q6 z# g* b5 H6 ?2 J; M
* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

Qualifications
: \. j h& ^& ?9 M. @- `
i3 }' _0 m! J * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
7 I7 R. |: ~: n * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth; o8 [' A; `; [+ E4 `
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
: n2 ~$ X9 |; c; p+ d * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
" F- ^8 j o! f2 I4 p% L * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community8 f* d4 K0 H9 {$ w# c
* Fundraising skills an asset
