* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region" M4 Z3 X5 _8 q" Z, Q/ V( R9 J
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
4 n' ]% Q! q" b7 X0 Q) q* M * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
# O7 L# j/ y8 q7 N& @ * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
/ Q' B+ q/ V% P9 b+ n5 f% m$ ^ * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
. f8 K9 k" a2 h+ W/ j, } * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
: Z% q; U( {) f6 R' J& I * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth

& R( Y1 l" B7 x1 i * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs' L% \+ x9 L1 B$ D
* Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly5 O' f8 ]; V4 a( b$ W
* Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline, T& K/ h S3 S9 @5 t
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth& {4 W2 h- A* q9 f1 s) l7 U( r* [
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
( o9 U4 D* |. S6 b/ A7 R * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
" J6 U1 _: D7 p* B$ S& I( K5 n. ~% v * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills7 g' _( M1 F, B
* Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
