Wow. In edmonton, if we're talking about academics, then it is definitely going to be in the following order

2) Harry Ainlay) e: o% e1 _4 } e9 [- W

Strathcona is more known for being a "jock" school - in other words, very athletic. It was also more populated with caucasians... I don't know if that's changed in the last 4/5 years... maybe there are more asians there now? Don't know.

Anyways, besides Strathcona being well known for sports, I have never really heard of it being well known for other attributes... Yes there is an AP program, but as far as I know, IB (as offered by Harry Ainlay) is still more renowned. Also... Harry Ainlay has a french immersion program. :)

For students that have a passion for arts:
! W: b$ ?& l! p3 k2 ]* G& p; qVic Comp used to be attractive for "artsy students", but now, the new Lillian Osbourne has taken its ranks for being an artsy school...0 B, x+ S" R3 d- H6 Y6 x
" D$ _! E* B( ]Otherwise, I still consider Old Scona and Harry Ainlay some of the better schools around in terms of academics :)) b; |5 H( z+ P1 }* U
' n5 E' }5 l' P; jLike I said, I graduated from high school a few years ago, maybe rankings have changed. But when I was in high school, this is what the schools I previously named above were well-known for. Hope this helped! |
