2 l( E- X8 S5 { pA prominent cancer researcher at the University of Alberta, and his wife, are facing a number of charges related to the alleged sexual assault, and confinement, of a teenaged girl.

Zhixiang Wang, 50, and his wife Xinmei Chen, 49, were arrested at Edmonton Police Service headquarters on February 14.# c1 o7 B1 B6 T4 `2 O

Wang is facing charges of sexual contact with a minor, and sexual assault – for reported incidents dating back to between Nov. 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010.- Z" i1 r/ S0 e4 y

Chen is facing a charge of unlawful confinement of a child for alleged offences from May 31, 2010 to Jan. 29, 2013.( I- G' o9 U2 _6 n& j2 {. m: h

The University of Alberta issued a statement Friday, and confirmed the couple are both employed by the U of A, but are on leave.
