Anything related to water frozen in basement is a serious issue, it has to have immediate attention.
Few minutes work if just the safety expansion valve leaks ( most probably only the valve) / k, Z0 F. s) p% M I" v' ^& u2 K; w% P
Close the main water inlet valve; " N" l4 @- U: E" Q4 q+ oopen all faucets in the house including showers to drain all water out in the pipe line;6 u6 [1 ~, `+ K2 @ g$ N; o
Close the cold water valve to the water tank if you have one; + h: S _0 {; c6 yShut down the hot water tank by closing the temperature switch to off;) |7 k1 y$ A# W8 X+ B/ g
Open the drain valve at the bottom to drain all the water out;6 t) @3 e! o0 Z0 k
Then remove the expansion valve, go to home or Canadian tire. they all have one.% d2 B, {. p( s6 O0 C6 V

The humidifier is even simpler. The drain hose is supposed to have water go thorough the humidifier filter inside the housing and then goes to drain when furnace is on. 1 U( a* \" A- G( S: m; C$ b {* ^6 P6 R8 Y. z
If there is no crack at the housing connector, just re-do the connection when the furnace is off. 1 n2 g u, o, n9 E7 r' n9 x4 F! _& U! r) ~$ y' k
