ATV crash leaves woman dead, man presumed drowned
& j$ M# d Q! H0 a An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned. CBC's Nelly Gonzalez reports.

According to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.9 u; X% `/ t' u Q" M
; r" |1 h- ^. L/ U$ j; _ N. e6 uShe lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.$ v1 Z& T- t) L9 s0 x9 p

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.+ W: x8 O3 J% A8 H4 o. B
! |5 y- w. S# A: ZSearch efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.# v A1 `7 Z) I% d8 z$ g# ~

3 Q. x* Z1 ^) C* I# o" H! [1 hA Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The names of the man and woman are not being made public by the RCMP.

Rivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
