Engineer report和home inspection是一回事吗

最近要买一个房子，因为房子属于在小山丘上地势是斜的，所以中介建议做个engineering report，但是他又说和home inspection不一样。
新手买房，求大神们指导一下，或者推荐一下分别做这两个项目的公司或个人

Engineering report sounds like a geotechnical investigation to me, involving bore holes at your site.
: B5 D% o5 M$ Y8 m# e: rSome builders do provide this report.  Engineers would use the bore holes information to recommend the type of foundation for a house.  Usually houses in here are on spread footings, but it is not uncommon that some of they are on piles where at the unstable soil conditions.

有的 inspector 考个证混饭吃。 好多东西都不懂。壁炉开关不敢碰，问其好使不，说不清楚。锅炉说年头

, ~! U) d+ i/ H3 ^; `8 M# [怕得罪realtor, 不按事实写报告，可能认为我们不懂英语。当我们指出后，说钱可以不要了。

+ e/ n$ t" j# Z细节就不说了。建议找个懂结构的Inspector.
