Edmonton police have arrested and charged a 26-year-old man with a weapon offence, following several recent gun complaints in the southwest community of Riverbend.2 r( c4 w% h2 {) g

! I9 c$ C( C7 Y; O& u: SPolice arrested the man later in the afternoon at the Terwillegar Recreation Centre, after receiving a tip from a resident." ~' F; j( M( [& p! J
" P& t; [* J. J: ]3 G9 B+ nA search of the man's home turned up a BB pistol and balaclava matching the description given by witnesses. The man is charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

, v- k* [ m) W& W$ x! fA man wearing a balaclava and holding a handgun was seen in the area on two previous occasions — the first at 4 p.m. last Friday near the Snow Valley ski hill parking lot and on Saturday on the Terwillegar Drive footbridge.
