What is the criteria for reporting a traffic accident? Can I phone it in?
( J( W2 {/ U# e1 c8 l5 KEffective August 1, 2002, Saskatchewan motorists will only have to report motor vehicle collisions to police if the collision involves:
- r7 x% s2 k1 P0 F1 y5 d# r! a1) Any bodily injury or death;# L/ v- o& m: N8 S
2) A Hit-and-Run;' m" O" K: w. ?( |3 H
3) A driver impaired by alcohol or drugs;
; K9 X; N B9 O9 |4) A motor vehicle towed from the scene; \- y" l' W& q! v* t
5) An out-of-province vehicle.3 S/ O8 F- U- z8 q. j
8 c9 R$ L/ L6 r3 KNormally, police would be dispatched to the collisions described above. One exception may be an owner's discovery that his/her vehicle has been damaged in a hit-and-run, but the vehicle can still be safely driven to Police Headquarters.
