What is the criteria for reporting a traffic accident? Can I phone it in?
4 W# ]; p+ g/ a1 m Y! \2 n7 rEffective August 1, 2002, Saskatchewan motorists will only have to report motor vehicle collisions to police if the collision involves:
; P! i* j B, w, k& h1) Any bodily injury or death;
0 y4 X' L7 |6 @! b5 D2) A Hit-and-Run;. d6 ]0 D+ {7 v0 K" Z
3) A driver impaired by alcohol or drugs;
. g" R# X) g, ]4) A motor vehicle towed from the scene;
; O7 E4 h. |' u5 O* G2 S0 X* X5) An out-of-province vehicle.0 W9 E6 H! i5 l' ]' m& V
5 `" c/ |/ i! v8 fNormally, police would be dispatched to the collisions described above. One exception may be an owner's discovery that his/her vehicle has been damaged in a hit-and-run, but the vehicle can still be safely driven to Police Headquarters. In such a case, the owner could make a report in person at Police Headquarters.& u8 J/ b6 _/ V3 M
