Beginning in 1995, ETIP:! Y; `' v0 @7 E/ a
• supports foreign-educated engineer and engineering technologists, and: o1 S4 N8 l W# B. D3 I

Alberta is home to many foreign-educated immigrant engineers. These( K5 A/ [ z7 N/ u
immigrants are highly educated and experienced, yet many may find it
8 S u) ]/ b; [7 I' ndifficult to integrate into the Alberta workforce. Some employers may not
* S6 |5 Z! t' irecognize their international experience or credentials.

Integrated training offers a blend of occupation-related skills, a work

Edmonton immigrant community.

Canadian workforce.1 v3 E$ Z) D& c7 ~- k
• ASET provides professional recognition of the qualifications of ETIP

What is the evidence of success?- Z& g) O5 {1 Z0 j
As of 2003, more than 80% of ETIP graduates over the past six years have
% h- |& t& O$ b9 E$ I2 mfound engineering or engineering technologist employment in Alberta.
+ ~, g6 V: f7 ?. iIn 2004, 46 engineers graduated from the ETIP program. At the time of
0 l2 k: t8 C5 Z% K2 ~graduation, almost half had secured employment in the engineering industry,! `2 U3 v* l# h6 @' N4 n1 i7 L7 E
with over 90% employed at three months post-graduation.
