Key Responsibilities & Duties:

2 H+ t$ B) x5 ~' X8 d9 o Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
; Z1 _0 j4 C' [* H Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
; `& K- x$ @/ n4 Y3 c9 r Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
7 h7 `4 p, P% n& h7 b0 S Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
9 K, Y+ h' @7 c1 T" T9 ?: c Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
2 J/ C7 B6 }- t* A: v
! ?! R8 R7 l& C; c- X Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
+ i; m- h  z, W Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
8 N% c+ d$ R* `5 E Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
. ^$ L/ [% @0 _! z0 M Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
. \: z% q  K" X) D6 v2 e Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
. X( q' h( W- L& ] Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
# c: V6 u2 C; N5 s! MThere is a 3-month probationary period.
