FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ' B9 a, X+ A2 S6 v# _
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 4 E# G. _* K: |6 I) _9 L
artists from Northern Alberta. 9 \+ w( u; f6 w4 \0 r6 w, y5 [6 x- ~
; I- H+ c- o- o% `6 T. v0 L: k) pFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
7 U/ n+ l/ a! aemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
* K; p) O7 I$ Z/ b1 N4 }and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a $ u2 c y" `9 }) s% h6 s
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ' u! ?1 F9 _# x$ g& e' h" [
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

3 d4 `# L5 v$ ]Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive : K/ ]- `# M4 H. K* X
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by

- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities

- Assist with production logistics for programming events

- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 5 {& T5 C2 b3 l+ ^( b. |4 X
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- y6 X5 v, G' q2 [4 Z* T* B! W4 u- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment / W' O# \) h8 G# Z% z( v) _& |) w
- Advance organizational and research skills 6 Z' b- `( w5 o, T( d
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
- u* y" [3 k, S- q- Strong team player abilities
