FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

/ ]% B3 G8 Y6 { N% DFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
- E* ~4 ?0 [1 O9 N9 x8 |emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video " [( X2 H- X2 i2 w8 y
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
: v. @1 N$ K$ sDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 9 G+ }/ \. N. e; V5 c# u' Y6 A
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants
7 {. g! d" @" n4 E) d7 p% j- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 6 M* P) ^6 ^7 w
- Assist with equipment maintenance # \ X5 A9 h2 o, P9 j G$ e4 Z
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
7 r% Q% O$ i( X) R! i, O& i- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff , x$ s3 a* o3 k, S9 ?
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ) u7 K& ~# w" \" R& s

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: # E1 Z9 V9 o) A) \. A
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
7 _1 v4 T2 i& x6 I# s- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
1 B; D2 ]6 }4 m, J6 t; N9 N9 Y6 g/ V" G- Advance organizational and research skills ; O8 ~- o+ J& K5 s& o
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
7 W! t( A0 v( a8 x& p- Strong team player abilities # L; n. u+ r0 W- F4 j
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
