You are saying “与工会讨论”. Where is your voice? Did you guys ask any questions? What is you guys’ opinion on the government interview to Chinese electricians? Are there any other country electricians to be interviewed? Probably you guys just went there and listened. If you guys really want to represent all Chinese electricians, please tell us before you guys go. And collect some questions before you go. Do not just sit there and listen then tell people you guys “discussed”.

You always say government or the union will do something. What is our community going to do? Sit and listen? You guys better have some good ideas to help Chinese electricians. If you guys do not, you better give up you position. Not everybody is a “sitter and listener”. Not everybody wants to be tools of government and the union to scare all Chinese electricians.

- R# ?+ Z- `2 L; a& O今天我们有五位中国弟兄在IBEW424与工会主席JAMES WATSON, BUSINESS MANAGER Tim Brower 以及PUBLIC AFFAIR Barry  Salmon 就大家关心的问题进行了讨论。
* `/ `, A( L! T# F9 E% NTim 对大家能参与工会的活动表示欢迎，若今后中国电工协会组织活动，工会可以出地方与费用。
对今年的工作的预期：　SHELL SCOTFORD 会在11,12月份达到用人高峰，到时会需要3000位左右的电工。到时会对外地电工提供LOA.

: _6 ~' ~6 u' @* D& k有关政府的面试, 他们也是刚刚得到消息。对我们的有关提问JAMES WATSON 表示他会与政府APPRENTICE BOARD 的有关官员联系，给我们一个答复

现在是随机抽查，　主要考理论内容，合格的话会得到某种证明，不合格证书有可能被收走。
我们会想办法获取更多的信息，到时会UPDATE.

$ o! o$ H% {6 Y3 A0 R3 x" }) d工会正采取措施让更多合格的中国电工加入，具体措施为：
不管您持有的是加拿大哪一个省的电工证，只要您能通过工会培训中心的四个小时的动手测试，您就可以加入工会。您先填一张申请表，工会会安排一个测试时间，您通过了再交钱并成为会员，考试内容是全方面的，接线，做桥架，马达，弯管等等。不局限于我上次发帖所告诉的内容。70分为通过的标准。

" O" g6 S" i$ q* F, B有关测试的设施，要等6到8周才能到位，因此此项措施也要等那时才有可能实行。
  |6 n1 m4 l8 z  n5 F对等待入会的PERMIT.会有一个审核委员会电话面试您。如果您通过了电话面试，您可以入工会，如果您没有通过电话面试，您将同样面对以上的动手测试。

  p! [; J4 e7 p+ n+ w: m/ E以上两项测试，望大家做好准备，如果我们的弟兄的通过率高，可以堵住很多人的嘴巴。

! u5 c! y$ W- {; e% ^! v" T( U大家对此有何建议与意见，可以回帖表达。我们会通过有关渠道向政府反映。

Similar stories happened to Indian and Polish electricians before but not this big because their English are better than ours in general. If everyone of us could speak English as well as they do, or as well as what you write above, we might not have this problem at all.
. k7 A+ }9 O& V! f- @1 d3 CIf you do want to help Chinese electrician and discuss with the Union, you can recommend yourself to the Community.

最讨厌那种自己干不成事，也不想干啥事，别人要干点事又要指手画脚的人。why not tell us who the heck you are first before asking who they are. If you don't want to be presented, do what you got to do, otherwise, sit back and shut up, you are not invited anyway, son!

You better watch your mouth; you are the son .
You and I are one of the Chinese electricians. We should be asked before they go. If “sit and listen” is doing something, then what is doing nothing?  If you are when of the five, you better listen to what I and all Chinese electrician say. Criticizing is not a bad thing for the new born Chinese electrician community. We saw about 200 people were in the hall. If thing not going well, I mean if we are not represented correctly, you will see 20 or only 5 of you. If you are not one of the five, do not come here before you grow up, please.

I can not get internet signal  those days.
First I need to apologize for not explaining clearly in my post (Discussion with the Union leader) even though I declared I just post part of the discussion. The main purpose of that post is for the discussion among our community. I posted what the information I got, no personnel opinion.
I want to make it clear for the following:
! J, t% p% i4 k4 W. E  w# v1.       We do ask question about why Chinese Electrician are questioned by Different level (government, the Union and the company) What is the purpose? Is there an ending?
2.        One of our brothers is try to talk about this testing issue with the Government. The Union is supporting us on this issue.
: A3 w" O) e- a& K3.        we are working on some other issues . We  try to update.
2 |7 n$ ?* F: q% T" K! d& I4.        Those five brothers are skilled electricians, they have been working in oilsand for at least 3 years.
Personally I thank their effort. To work free in spare time is not the effort that everybody can afford.
