This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.% I8 x0 X9 n0 X K

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes. D' M n6 ^ C* @9 C {+ T0 y+ l+ m i
• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.
' i4 z4 r+ Q( @ ~3 e• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.# J% Z5 k6 Y+ ?$ S C' F
• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather

JOB REQUIREMENTS:( F# E2 ^! c. t5 }$ w
• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.- h" c- {4 y; Y* P: e- F3 W
• Proven ability to deal directly with the public, with well-developed customer service skills; the ability # n7 b! u# L& a+ K" ] D% ~
to be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger

. s' l! C3 B- Q" [! L• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).
$ Z9 N; [! J9 p# F• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.
* k% [6 Y7 A# c# R6 C' s• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.- F% B4 ?5 ~7 O! v* G, x! `/ M9 W; ]
• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date)
3 h6 L+ C* n8 A+ J; oshowing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period. $ W% p! ~! K" P- l4 s& t) P
• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill ! x; W q* p/ u3 ?& c* U
video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).

HOURS OF WORK:5 s/ L, o1 T f
Various hours of shift work (straight or split shift), any time of the day, any 5 days of the week

Training Rate: $16.56 Hourly
