This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.2 R7 G4 m! X { }( {0 q0 ^- y' F

FUNCTIONS:
/ M: v" A+ b2 T+ e. B' O6 u, s• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.+ [: \: p/ Z" p1 E. X4 v0 i
• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.

- z7 h) \- O8 ]# B7 `• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather ( h) A, i" q! f y$ W% D$ ]
and traffic conditions.

" m1 j* ^/ R6 E$ Q• Obey and follow defensive driving guidelines, local traffic laws and Transit system regulations.

3 |+ _5 q- `' a• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.

# E$ _, e; T( `% yto be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).
" p& G% }6 ` I# ]• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.8 `* ]( d+ a9 [5 z: }4 z- @ n
• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.
/ A/ O( z$ \/ f4 B l* L9 U• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date) * M1 x6 K+ M6 J8 \
showing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period.

video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).4 w) |0 E. S" P2 L) F
• Successful completion of the ETS Training Program.. A! Z* H" h. f# V2 K
• Internal ETS applicants must have completed all mandatory in-house training.

Various hours of shift work (straight or split shift), any time of the day, any 5 days of the week : L8 R( @6 G5 e# V" ?! Y
1st year: Guaranteed minimum 67.4 hours bi-weekly, B: v, X% B: ^- t) M# A4 E7 K
Thereafter: Guaranteed minimum 74 hours biweekly' v7 w0 y: A% r( I& i, @' Q

Training Rate: $16.56 Hourly/ S- K9 q. X7 N s4 R
Post Training Rate: $20.36 - $25.45 Hourly) V9 t0 [# E% N. o- O
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
