ECBEA was approached by the Asian Chinese Opera Association to announce

followings rare operatic performance.  The organizer has offered 2 free

tickets for each school; please select 2 students from your school to
award
the tickets by the end of June and respond to this email.  Extra

Association (Children Div.) is putting together an Opera performance at
SUB
9 |" Q% q' M: b4 ]' d5 atheatre, U of Alberta, Jul. 21, Sat. at 1-4 pm.  The casts are led by 2
: }' J# {+ u/ Z$ x) k
0 h! z' c$ W# S' Hinstructors - Lau Wai Ming and Fong Suet Ying, both are Champions of
3 ]1 t% D* T: l' Vthe
Cantonse Opera Contest in Hong Kong and was awarded outstanding
) H0 N# h" g/ ^Achievements
in Arts Education in the teacher category by the Hong Kong Arts
/ H9 `9 l- u  x1 c7 V5 P" YDevelopment
Council.  Children cast members are ranging from 6 - 15 years old.  The
; Y, o0 D) Q( o0 p
7 Q8 J0 I( `; w7 K, M- X' x/ ]performance will be done in English with Chinese operatic music; plus a
few
songs in well-known Cantonese Opera... The performance was done to
sold-out
