the Students' Union and oversees all electoral logistics as per Bylaw 4 D5 e( P1 b/ ?: C. C2 }/ A* z
2000. The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students' 1 [) U/ A3 }+ _# y
Council in the manner set out in the Council Administration Committee ! a0 m8 @9 P+ X; P3 O
Standing Orders by April 15 and serve from May 1 to April 30 of the ( p& |/ o) v* Z

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) To run the elections as per Bylaws 2000: \( |6 |# l: r, A4 v
/ W1 Q3 O3 [1 o* c$ ~2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.

+ b' S R6 _. ^- T4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing
$ |, g- a* ~$ V* kadequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations 3 Y3 M- u' L+ z1 A k/ |- u
across campus, and advertising the poll locations.! {9 ?" u7 O5 d
# {5 b( \4 z8 E) A5 W0 @5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/

6) To report the result of an election/referendum to the appropriate 2 d% z9 x) n6 F
parties.

7) To facilitate classroom speaking arrangements during an election/

Bylaw 2000.

10) To be available to all parties during elections/referenda for a - ?: f% E( O4 G- B' \ y
minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday,

U/ \% m0 Z- Z+ \of voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.

11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during & B! P% A) ]; r
the course of an election/referendum.

12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting

of activities and recommendations.

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week

QUALIFICATIONS:

2) Must have some experience in student elections.

3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or
