BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving: b/ N( l, e( c6 e

2 d' A4 E% `: i# R" ?1 {8 {22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  ) l$ o5 L* u& ~7 Y' L3 ]

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
8 t) ~6 ?: w" {8 P. s0 xOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  & X3 C1 @' i) Q
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  ) _3 w) ^1 z; a% K& ]( V
cleanliness and order in the bar.

0 O  E7 a) ~) {; e) L0 qDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:9 S, @' U, Y* j! M, U) ~" g
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
6 f( R/ ]4 w& Z0 I+ C8 T3 ^beverage items./ p7 S- |/ m0 l0 x
6 l  p- J9 t/ a2 M
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  - X0 x2 B6 G3 b4 e* R% T
bar and debit floats.
8 o6 Y2 E4 g; G* v+ f* P
) w: l* e7 @3 ~: i6 T3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
. I& l: q6 A$ J9 l) w8 R% l' yeach shift, and upon closing.( }" y* q: f1 t5 {& p: b4 h

8 R  H' {# S( C/ P. [  ?4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  8 L8 X9 g# h: t- r  W; n0 z
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  1 J  c7 t6 U" O
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.# ^2 F! q6 f$ c/ D8 F% _) Q) P
' ?8 K4 A* x1 E* e& E9 p3 p" L8 A
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
9 C0 v/ u3 H( z" w- Xstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
" [6 u  b9 `- }6 J* D2 _products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
+ S) u7 @; y, ]: L/ D+ W* P( u, C2 H) o4 e' t- ]4 ?5 {
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  " a" m3 r* B- h# L- n. D
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  # V3 E& o/ M6 S6 K0 b9 M# e, X
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  ! I' _0 b6 k3 q6 q, X" f* d) W
accordance with Students' Union policies.

* s+ j. k3 b5 O1 Z4 I+ d7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
) o. f$ D9 x0 v* R: Hhigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.' O: L  _. F& E# M% z/ P% z
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  ; P0 ]7 |8 U* g3 i, q/ n
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.' F  }1 \% S  g% ]/ W2 y

7 z; q1 X" O9 _+ b- F* {; j9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
' `4 Q% _/ g' B5 r! s; j7 B% fSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.+ r& |8 Z) S) M. J1 `$ @7 q

! q4 |3 y7 c& [% z% e% {; d# I2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
1 p8 b" w, d; B& d  poperation.& b% F/ f! z0 M: P
4 E1 A* l: Q' W% |
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  6 m; D# k# g6 z7 O) `
accordance with Students' Union policy.

5 b+ [5 X4 d4 Q: [+ ], |! F4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.: d( v# v/ U/ j& [

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
5 q! B% ~* U$ bUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  ( g! w) n8 f" x2 i
