BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving0 l. l) a5 g: A

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
' l" s- q0 K7 U# r7 H, yOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  . L' j# x  t: _1 B
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  / L' i2 |# ^+ N9 o+ T+ b) E, I& U
cleanliness and order in the bar.

5 \  L2 @  \$ r5 _4 i/ o- DDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  T' K" T( f/ Q  x" `9 D6 l+ ]
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  3 k7 ]4 }1 {9 `0 b% d5 E4 t  I/ V
beverage items.
. ?7 W5 R0 }% d" q& S% ]6 E; V
/ ]8 x/ x/ M' |2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
2 z3 ^. c# i6 ~6 sbar and debit floats.

3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
* P5 @/ r% v/ i% veach shift, and upon closing.9 }* b$ n6 s' ^2 _" ^

6 F! [6 w+ x) e) ~4 ^4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  + z, @: R9 e& R$ r- W
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
) S0 }% g& R7 m) s& U! r7 Dseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

$ `" j: S. Z$ B  Y" ]- R% I! Y+ ]5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  ; J# g* O, Y" Y7 ~8 x: u/ L& {
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  2 a3 @' u' s& {1 v# f5 f+ y' X
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.. ~/ D2 `/ D6 I) J' a/ }. P

$ z+ A# h( l0 c8 P" D: e" s6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  / X, n  b" J  o6 C! I
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  9 {, [9 q3 N6 B: E4 O8 _
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  " ^) j1 j2 A6 G$ \, u4 ^! c
accordance with Students' Union policies.3 D9 U, A9 k4 s$ I0 ?7 O+ V. {5 F

0 I; W4 h$ _: z7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a    K" h. G: G  h- V  W! @7 e5 s8 n
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.7 P5 K: ^5 N/ x
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
# x0 A& y7 G5 [& JAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.
0 ^* {4 B6 m" t7 E' |* [; N& l6 P9 e+ _& h/ U( Y+ E
9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  & x8 W+ I$ u* N( n2 M, F
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.4 S# G5 s/ c  @  W7 v+ L% t. [

QUALIFICATIONS:
4 Q0 O2 N3 f6 z8 v1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

. r% p! C1 N7 R! O2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  0 d- i# j$ B) `% i( O" l. P& {% C' \
operation.# v$ T* \7 h4 B: A

. {. Z) \& W% w4 I5 [3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  / G, I8 k  ^* K, z% T/ J
accordance with Students' Union policy.- p4 S( M) [2 K1 _% k9 P, Z4 Z

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

+ \0 z  E0 e3 Y7 K+ N7 b% \; h: `5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
5 O* g* _6 g# z& S+ q/ p1 d- MUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic
