JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
0 u6 a8 ]$ d. H2 @3 i; }carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.


4 p: i4 ]- Q- [: b' V6 B$ lDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
" B# M& |  G2 g5 {% L1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
9 [% }; Z! f) |0 t3 }# x3 v
2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
- D5 r+ |# l7 q! D3 F' nhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
& {: v3 G* R5 `0 Z" E! R& eaccordance with Students' Union policies.

3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

( H  {3 R; X2 H& b4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
( I2 v/ I% T# F! @/ R2 kincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
4 B! Q8 f7 |, y2 t7 O$ Y& I& Qand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
! B# T' F$ z2 c4 ~! G0 v, D6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
8 G  G  S2 V; P. W! K) j. R, s! i9 |Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
, q7 w& i* o( a- aManager.

" B, k3 k; ^' f% E' K0 x8 TQUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.

& h, g+ \2 w) j# q0 K) R3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
, y, x. H( ]7 `9 x  rpolicy.

4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
/ _$ K' E4 Z  u6 Qcard transactions.

2 y$ P: ]+ t8 E) p5 R% ^5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
  X% a- s# P' _# w' Bprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
