The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

8 r  k/ `9 i  P) H/ lSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
: ?9 r' K6 f# O5 P7 ofor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
# X" A$ D0 }; j. Rcompounds by chromatography.
/ p4 F2 z3 {5 k( D4 s/ n
Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
5 s. C8 L, v- fChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
8 ~2 I: m3 N' N# Y- K, ?7 Wanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
1 C& g# }9 R, k) a- DThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
1 q& W/ B" F, I# c! e, Ohope to work in these areas.
