The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

$ p  z6 o+ i: b+ T/ R, |! MSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

( X4 w7 o( V% {) D  ]Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
4 J5 o  E1 _( F9 F# A* @; e: iinclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
; f9 c7 ~4 Y0 t' MChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
' s0 C: [" b& Z1 P) ]- E5 Eseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
9 P- v1 J2 U: nof a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
1 x: E9 C1 f# \3 K) Vhope to work in these areas.
