The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

6 z1 n& m/ S$ x9 k' h1 KSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
7 {) i7 c9 g0 V# z/ ~* Pfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

. q) q. N( I, v2 M4 u6 O8 T5 CQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
% v, i! y( J5 y: J' b/ e, Tseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
5 T! f1 j# ^: P$ @of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
+ n* C- O8 l% ^) B3 land chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
