The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

7 q5 n* @; x5 H' e4 wDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
* _7 i, H1 P- _, ?  a/ h6 gtechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
% [- \5 I8 @$ bfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

2 ^. S0 e: t; x$ [Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
) d4 f6 b1 O$ R1 P* G4 O0 |; \separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
+ x, H4 a( Q/ l  r2 }and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
