The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
: u) g; l0 b5 Z! A: o5 Ltechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
. H2 P3 z# o6 Q, j6 v& u3 C2 Nfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
; P5 ^# f- T' ^) _) b- |0 Ccompounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
. e8 I( Z5 [' Q" L' Qanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
; y2 }3 r9 L0 c2 X$ w2 K3 useparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
: B$ v0 h. \" P; q" XThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
  J4 Q3 Y' H0 m3 V( c* `hope to work in these areas.
