The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

3 r; F. K3 \$ Z$ X+ R2 b' b" nSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.
! k% ^9 v- P- |: k$ j7 a
Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
$ p, t$ T! q+ Atechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
' ?" r& W! \0 H0 Ufor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
1 U* A, A  }& z& a" a8 Ecompounds by chromatography.

2 R, P6 ~% h+ F3 C" t9 ^Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
- P; b8 e* ^4 D1 v! n# F' Manalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
# ?8 K. j, v7 rand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
5 \1 U6 l: [( \  e9 w3 G. khope to work in these areas.
