The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

- `: w" J3 T- e. \0 ~Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
$ ^( [* c: s: k* i3 Ofor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
) s. m1 d5 f- h6 X  |  I- L6 Yinclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
: l* e) p/ J" z0 _- vcompounds by chromatography.

. ^# i1 I1 Y( e* KQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
0 J" J, F% Y8 `Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
* I, K* p' C. ?- r: u5 banalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
; N* |5 V$ y5 \3 M0 l2 R# m% _# `of a team essential.
* s5 x6 s1 K" O0 ?3 d1 Y; FThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
- W# o4 I& A1 w. c% J/ F* B. land chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
