Job description
3 P- J" H0 u- F! P, o. O7 SStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
weekend hours.
! j- f' r1 p' AYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
9 c: O0 \; d, f$ b# Y+ X6 Olab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
3 V4 }' a' ^9 @4 H* Dcentre.
( }8 p4 J* ?; G$ j  }These responsibilities include:
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
; ~1 @" u/ W2 n& M# `) j-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
! c$ J/ R+ _" R3 i, E# m& G& ~renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
. D, s& ~. W; N! O-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
clients’ files etc.
Statement of Qualifications
+ b) d  J* b8 h; J: p- H8 UEducation:
) h8 g0 u" |3 Q: Y. _' U-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
of education, training and /or experience.
- A9 O1 j7 m- C6 y7 D0 S; R, `Knowledge/Technical competencies:
% i1 n/ T0 K, S1 r0 Q-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
* a! a  N5 c: `/ L$ |4 R$ e; ^-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
and Excel.
-Experience using and updating an information database.
/ ?: @$ o0 ~) J4 |3 K
" d' c* }0 I6 e0 U$ N6 g1 SAssets:
0 f/ @- B- r* V8 Q% q: G" W-Experience in using MS Access.
+ f) a5 L; `7 A2 }-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA

-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
