. K+ B" E, Y7 K# t& T" b2 v! YDescription of Duties:  Positions will be responsible for helping with research activities across the province. Primary duties will be with a project designed to determine how closely satellite imagery can predict yield of native pasture. Students will be responsible for collecting field data on yield and precipitation on pastures several times throughout the growing season.  The position will also be responsible for drying and weighing samples and entering data onto spreadsheets.  Range evaluation will be required.

Qualifications:  Student must have a valid driver’s license and feel comfortable driving in rural areas. Position requires working long days and being away from Lacombe for extended periods of time.  Some physical endurance is also required.  Courses in plant identification, range management or forages, information processing and some experience with field research and data analysis are required.

Positions are to begin April 23 and continue until August 31, 2007.  

Salary Range: $16.85 - $19.02 per hour
