Calgary police have now laid charges against an 18-year-old Calgary woman following the death of a little girl at a crosswalk in the city's northwest.* X1 b+ a7 z- x2 D7 @
Police Sgt. Doug McIlwraith said Tuesday that Angela Ta has been charged with passing a motor vehicle stopped for a pedestrian at a crosswalk, failing to yield at a crosswalk, and careless driving.) Q( Y, L* @: g3 n) \- i
McIlwraith says the charges could mean a licence suspension, a $2,000 fine or six months in jail.
" A" c) i; [: a5 |7 s8 sSix-year-old Jenna Chang and her mother, Ye Qiao, were struck Jan. 18 by a black BMW while using a marked crosswalk at 32 Avenue and 37 Street N.W.3 {% r# W- c4 j5 M
