Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:
' b- K' \/ S$ z6 ~"I am going to send it back".
6 u& B" z( H# W9 C4 h* F A+ jI did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:! P0 l2 e% i. H! T* ^& T' W
"I am sorry, what are you sending back?"
, T/ e2 c0 H* ~% L) i ]He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage." + {& l: E4 n: E' p% g$ p" E; |* y
"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?"
& K0 e, J9 e' e& @/ O' P5 A# X( Y& }% X"Yes, I did."2 ?- W! s$ V. e* o: M
Finally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post.
1 h1 U$ Y' u4 T7 v# O2 j: u+ oHe took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet.

& _, g9 Z4 X! P" n* [! I# J"No, I am not. I do not do those things."
* I" P; I: z5 LHe took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside. 0 N( o" e7 v- a5 x+ ^ J
I gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:
; Z0 n4 o/ t$ M- Z) W; ]"Is it okay that I do not write this part?"
7 z$ w4 V. c$ n/ r9 x& B"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:
7 N; ~% q3 O5 ]# M( E" n"I do not have an address."0 R' P2 N' H; G1 X5 w; c# W- V7 O
I was surprised: "oh, where do you live?", M. X0 Y0 {0 z& a
He did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."
/ ]2 B3 N1 q+ I; |8 d, f9 G/ EMy heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it. 3 Q* B% X. }# g7 `
He did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity.
