Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities( d0 {: c7 s5 c& e; s! d9 q
Modify menus or create new ones that meet quality standards3 K# v1 i( Y. n- w$ B3 R. Z2 r0 a
Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs
, i9 n% o+ K1 U5 }* _Supervise kitchen staff’s activities
5 B/ A" k! K" h' \/ u2 N6 ?, QArrange for equipment purchases and repairs% u2 \) W+ S% b3 v  K
Recruit and manage kitchen staff; U7 k2 P) U: n6 q/ F
Rectify arising problems or complaints

Perform administrative duties

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Excellent record of kitchen management
" d" ^. [" X9 U8 J2 mAbility to spot and resolve problems efficiently
1 N. q# [: I! }  ~" d0 f; wCapable of delegating multiple tasks
$ ^2 H* `% \9 d* v9 y+ CCommunication and leadership skills( e. m7 ?  e0 ~3 W6 w
Keep up with cooking trends and best practices4 c9 ~- T+ T' u) X
Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
! m# E3 f! F# j7 p4 i, f, HBS degree in Culinary science or related certificate
