A police investigation revealed that between August 15 and September 19, the unnamed company made 1,907 trips to the waste management facility located on Yellowhead Trail and 170 Street.$ a& {. L' V9 m! e& K
Police say the trucks were transporting loads that were overweight by a least one tonne each visit. One truck was recorded as being 17.9 tonnes overweight.( O* P# N8 S4 R9 `, E6 w$ K
"The company is facing a fine of just over $3 million dollars," said EPS Const. Dave Beattie. "It's a big fine, I'll give you that, but for the police it's not about the value of the fine, it's about keeping these roads safe."- @9 d! l0 a- b, h3 E9 e6 b4 e. V
Beattie explains that with overweight vehicles, braking can be a problem.

The company is due in court on Thursday, December 3.
