Dear Parent or Guardian,

am conducting a study titled, “Language, Self-Recognition and Attachment Development: Possible pathways”,6 h) L: C9 n8 C u
concerning babies between 6- and 18- months of age. The purpose of the study is to understand how language and; u6 e, R" A5 ]* L) L! m! Z
attachment are related. For example, we want to know if babies that are good at relating to people around them7 `* f) x7 ?/ V8 W' V& ~% p. h

In order to find out, we will videotape you and your baby during a free play situation for approximately% O; i4 I1 s- I8 [1 n

simply skip this visit. Every visit, we will ask if we may contact you again for the next visit’s videotaping: you7 T5 Y! u) J8 z

baby starts speaking before 12 months, we will note down the words used.8 w, q8 K% O" H! y
