Drilling Engineer

Reporting to the Team Lead for Drilling and completions, the Senior Drilling Engineer will perform all aspects of well design including; Casing and Tubing Design, Mud Systems, Fluid Hydraulics, Primary and Remedial Cementing, Specialized Technical Software for tubular design and effect improvements in drilling efficacy.: b3 c8 Z) w$ W+ m2 c. Must be proficient with technical software, specifically related to drilling engineering e.g. stresscheck / ]& r' e3 D+ {* D8 m
For each well, confirm casing/tubing stress analysis, mud/hydraulics programs, cementing program, collision avoidance criteria
i" r# C3 ~+ C5 PPrepare Drilling Program, Basis of Design, ADW and other special operations programs as required in the course of the operation
5 z+ b1 W. b: g, K$ S7 O: YSteward to the recently implemented Well Delivery Model for Suncor including multi discipline peer reviews and post well reviews
: }) N. D X4 ^) q9 QPrepare End of Well Report which details cost analysis, operation analysis and provides recommendations for continuous improvement
$ D2 Q5 x* O, J* Y' S$ J0 yPrepare technical specifications to be used in tenders for materials, services and equipment used in the drilling operations
4 `6 W) R q- C' G9 U$ [* N6 rStays abreast of current technology and Best Practices within and industry and recommend the application of new technology : _4 @' G+ M5 D' h! {& O# g* t# E- h2 j4 x
Prepare management of change for drilling programs as needed# r) Q# Z V3 y" x( V
Communicate regularly with the cross discipline members of the NAO Team on progression, lessons learned cost and efficiency improvements as well as investigation on operational setbacks, Q7 J' c6 V l8 b1 X: }4 i5 }+ U
Mentor junior staff( P" s* A# s0 o' P
Participate in cross company technical forums on drilling and completion technology

The preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA
' i3 g. y6 y5 X+ yMust be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel as well as casing design software such as Stresscheck or equivalent
1 N' P, ?9 _2 v7 Z9 D/ Z( iService company or oil company drilling or completions operations experience preferred) }7 S0 w6 {5 g) R& s4 ~
Field supervisor experience will be an asset w$ j$ ]1 l3 o' ~
