Career Edge Organization is currently looking for help to fill a great internship opportunity for a Letter of Credit Officer with Scotiabank located in Calgary.

1 f1 d& X! A; ^% V0 ~, d1 j9 ~% e
•        Several years of practical experience in Trade Finance activities
& \- F. p* \0 K) B
•        Thorough and complete knowledge of the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, the Bills of Exchange Act, INCOTERMS, world shipping practices, and Canadian / Foreign customs
) C! }; \7 c2 i2 S
: P' l  B- R) Z) w3 e•        Strong knowledge of statutory requirements, International Law and Customs relating to Letters of Credit and Bank policy as high level transactional support to customers is required

6 a" ?+ Q: S9 z+ ~) \3 j6 J•        Capable of applying knowledge in accurately assessing / mitigating transaction and compliance risks and making judgemental decisions on problem transactions

•        Comfortable working in an environment involving significant risk exposure to the Bank.

3 K( j5 y, k8 ^9 V( f, }•        Possess an ability to evaluate high risk, complex transactions and make recommendations to the Senior Assistant Manager to minimize and or mitigate potential losses to the Bank and its customers.

•        have the equivalent of a Canadian bachelor’s degree and a completed education credential assessment
•        have at least 3 years of international work experience in their field
' S0 n" _+ M! P% n5 r' A1 V* G•        have little or no career related Canadian work experience
•        have been in Canada for less than 3 years
- f3 u& h; K% o- D•        are legally able to work in Canada
