Career Edge Organization is currently looking for help to fill a great internship opportunity for a Letter of Credit Officer with Scotiabank located in Calgary.

Mandatory Qualifications:

+ T# N6 G- c  I7 t•        Several years of practical experience in Trade Finance activities
5 f& @& h7 n( a
1 Z% B  W( X. M' b! ]' J•        Thorough and complete knowledge of the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, the Bills of Exchange Act, INCOTERMS, world shipping practices, and Canadian / Foreign customs
+ {1 ^- Z/ @, d4 m/ ^5 m
•        Strong knowledge of statutory requirements, International Law and Customs relating to Letters of Credit and Bank policy as high level transactional support to customers is required

) j! c$ ^- \, Y/ n1 X. N•        Capable of applying knowledge in accurately assessing / mitigating transaction and compliance risks and making judgemental decisions on problem transactions

, v6 E$ l4 y% V+ E: F•        Comfortable working in an environment involving significant risk exposure to the Bank.

•        Possess an ability to evaluate high risk, complex transactions and make recommendations to the Senior Assistant Manager to minimize and or mitigate potential losses to the Bank and its customers.
