To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. - \! s7 Q7 r/ N2 n; |: j

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)4 l( B0 {; B5 l2 L I. n+ p+ q

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
" Z- C* q, [8 Q* H+ ]5 A• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
& F7 {' v0 R! q$ V2 C• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;1 i4 A- Z( ]( @. H& `5 _
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;2 o& T0 R4 W0 F0 q' Y
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; % C* ?2 ^! [' u; W: b; s( }* c
• Risk Management and succession planning;4 W# j, v* ?+ g4 F0 J

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;4 \2 U* Z8 {; r+ u( U( `4 a. k4 U
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information; L3 Z6 Q$ @7 J) j( p
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;" }2 Q% d% U& H- Y r& m
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
% E: r: A K6 F, s n• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
& @( w( i! C, D5 t W) ~• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;5 `$ E; F: |: I
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;( _' p( k. u$ r* Q1 H
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:+ _& u0 ?. z, H) C, ]
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;4 ?) T1 O; T, J0 o
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;7 Z1 x' H" n( ^% E# q; F! @4 Z
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; * U3 |( K* y+ _" i* ?) E8 O3 Z
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;- h% g/ c$ b7 K6 y+ }9 {
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
9 v6 g# U" a2 ]2 S* R/ F2 T• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;! g; }4 D# M- ^7 @& r# l/ n# C
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;+ J( X( Z ]. U9 _
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;

/ a, R& C/ c! y P! D• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;

• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;1 `' n- P2 O( E
• Committed and passionate about children;: _7 `* u+ j5 Y1 F4 N" x
