Job Purpose:1 w: h" f4 G; j# R N; n
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 7 r7 o0 g3 R* \; D4 f7 y

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:# q) m( J. I2 ~7 k1 w4 ~4 T5 _9 q
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
5 d# I- i5 j' D* @2 K. n3 L• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;- |) f. O' B& B" A- L. f& {9 L8 g
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;$ @; b$ [ P+ ], p1 Z- r! N% n
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; . p8 f& V L- G! k. P4 I& M% {
• Risk Management and succession planning;

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
* ~1 G& N3 s( h8 X. o4 y• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;' I3 R5 N' m0 ?% j, z8 [
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;: Q' s8 @! ^! a& ~
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
2 m+ i; J4 @9 D" e; b; n• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;) u5 c" i8 {: |& S- b, h6 n
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
& c5 D8 K( _; M. W2 g9 y: Y5 s0 m• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
+ W* T# q+ B' _1 I• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;8 w4 E6 d" O& c( D# y

Qualifications:, x" g, _8 K) f# s
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;9 {* X) ~: A9 x* _0 z( }- V: V
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
3 v8 ^1 S5 N2 P0 A1 Z• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
* R& A( e# ~$ s0 l2 R, f! _• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
" t9 k- c, W9 a- R• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.& _. Z% A$ ^8 c3 o1 ^& w9 h
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
; i8 x0 ]. ^$ d• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
9 B5 C, p, T0 w8 Y• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
. E' g' D% k* g! u! {• Current valid drivers license;
. [( R$ g5 S0 e# ^' h2 n• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
$ t) c3 Q7 M- H; \. S• Conflict resolution skills;

• Committed and passionate about children;* }! j* f7 t2 a# r. n

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
