Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project5 `7 N( G* M- O7 m- t

Job Purpose:! k( ?2 b) H0 B* m
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 9 C. / [5 e- E' ?- b; V8 y; QThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
2 X3 ?8 s3 R& E  E7 i+ d" g•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
8 H1 R4 w0 O4 W5 I•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
& }+ i1 a6 H' `; H) I% F•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;* b# h# k+ l7 n
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
8 }% v0 [0 e5 L, _/ l- n! ?- G•        Risk Management and succession planning;1 ]1 N( ~1 z- b0 e" T+ d
& I; ~0 f! \, {% M" a' q
Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
+ |: ~- z7 {* R. z9 b•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
8 a# W) x1 @0 ?7 [•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;  E' K3 E0 k$ G$ I" r# I% Y
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;( E/ Y6 K- y) k$ d( R5 `
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities, B4 C% G. ^) Z" }* m  G( K# D
•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;* e6 P. _& M1 C7 R8 i, V
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;4 _( H2 y% S" K" {  O6 D4 [
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
- s* X* K+ [  }' n9 m: z8 Y6 x% Q•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;4 _1 B& z; Z# m) w5 i, v

9 p" x7 C4 J9 N8 i3 E# uQualifications:5 h3 G9 {0 S" y% R/ D
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
0 r  ]1 a* v$ L* h( G6 i& T* O( `8 l+ @•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
4 w- F# x5 k: Q# {4 y+ r•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
$ j% k( U9 K3 m: r•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
. V; n" d$ M1 W5 _2 K•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
/ J" S. {7 Z: X4 m5 Z•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
# M( a! N1 B) ^6 }8 q% X•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;6 t+ U# E0 i! s: A: ^8 H
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;0 E: o9 D- `, P) B3 Z4 l( D
•        Current valid drivers license;! c7 u: R8 m) R; _* }( R
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
( n8 Z# g) m4 s5 z2 }4 U•        Conflict resolution skills;+ S; H% ~6 w4 L) }0 `' b/ k" Z
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
$ K4 u* Z" [# x3 q) X# c2 m•        Committed and passionate about children;
