To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 6 z. [- |, l6 o) k L! l% F4 Z5 y) O
) @" i6 @ k, {( j0 Z2 xThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)* U* K4 }2 P! J. z4 x

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;0 q4 Y8 C* O) v. n6 s
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;$ r, D* s3 m# b7 a
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;

+ F$ O# v+ [: U. E! ~• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;$ E6 l Z# c4 y& Q8 V( j
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
" H* A# t" R. B, Z I$ [- ?• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
" j+ e( R, D" N f• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
6 W- k7 r5 m6 T• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;* n# V1 D5 j5 h6 N" \, C
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;0 c" Y5 ?6 u$ W9 k3 \; R
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
' X3 d. b1 w* w. Q/ R- C• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;! t0 |$ T& ]3 i8 T% D
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
3 e+ [+ e9 `5 y( a7 ?1 c, m• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;& R" w4 w# T# x" @
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.! G5 _* Y& a! N9 N
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
! }( w& q2 h: m. V• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;0 G" n9 ?. P/ Z# b
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;3 B/ ?# K0 X- x( l
• Current valid drivers license;
/ S6 S* v) _# L& }; E* G7 f• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;# v) C7 [5 O9 ^ y) m# x
• Conflict resolution skills;

• Committed and passionate about children;
