Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

) @" i6 @  k, {( j0 Z2 xThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

0 ~+ i" l9 n. iAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
- l( l$ g0 s+ t: h* G6 m$ h•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

$ q, S4 d7 e+ yProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:  
+ F$ O# v+ [: U. E! ~•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
" H* A# t" R. B, Z  I$ [- ?•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
" j+ e( R, D" N  f•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
6 W- k7 r5 m6 T•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
, @% X4 f/ A) k$ B  y•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

! K! j+ W1 D# Q2 W& C  H1 ~Qualifications:
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
' X3 d. b1 w* w. Q/ R- C•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
3 e+ [+ e9 `5 y( a7 ?1 c, m•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
! }( w& q2 h: m. V•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
•        Current valid drivers license;
/ S6 S* v) _# L& }; E* G7 f•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
•        Conflict resolution skills;
4 N5 D, U/ Z' p' k•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
•        Committed and passionate about children;
