Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news 1 b7 v: K& b/ d, W Z
- provide volunteers to update membership database
( b0 b$ F+ \" x/ z+ B0 ^0 i7 ~- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
; ]: D& }1 s+ T4 Y) @/ _0 r/ V. r- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
5 P% _* x7 s# \! L# |- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties3 ~9 F4 Z& Y" d* E
- provide volunteers for various programs * j% ^2 j$ v6 f( s# w/ \
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual+ S2 I' q: o" u) K' y* W' ?6 A* u
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
$ e' ?8 E" k+ A- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities! l: D- g% H& n1 c! r
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
) U- X5 y5 h/ L8 i3 x- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
+ G* m. Q1 n- @3 B* ^* }, u- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
) ~4 w3 u- q( A% ^& E" m5 U6 ^- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed2 P4 Y, V! k0 ]
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)7 V1 Q, F9 e4 t6 W9 y- M: m
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 3 m x. V* A1 v) A, {1 \8 F
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers ! _+ z3 \. L2 i% |
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 1 V1 N# f- D k5 x+ j2 B7 ?& G
- evaluations
+ m0 o5 e, P A, N P$ [8 n' e- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre# R) f. w5 `, V; I

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education( M8 N" S- T* K: Z O) f
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
9 Y) u* g4 d) k; e' i- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services0 N- I6 \' i7 D7 H+ f2 z* M
- leadership skills
