Key Responsibilities
1 ~: r r" t! ?. X# g4 l- submit information for community news
1 t/ R# i% k' @$ u4 V, w8 b- provide volunteers to update membership database3 [6 V, g. A0 U6 m9 f# m
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
# ?& g! A5 u# _$ s- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties @& q' E9 z! m
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties3 A) S" P+ w1 S2 Q9 t5 E9 c" ^4 G
- provide volunteers for various programs 8 E6 Q7 R4 O1 K) s' ?( d4 q; }
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual8 h8 m" x% L/ j: Y# J
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
2 r% g7 m+ E; O9 ^9 Y# t- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities- M, ~0 W4 u2 p$ L- U! H. l
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
, }, x) R8 S. U8 ^4 c, X8 H- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports. G; J0 p% H7 x/ B) W0 t
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
+ \& U8 ]/ x. t8 i. C' a- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
3 M% m( }9 D3 } L- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)( x9 T* T: d) P; j; }0 G
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 3 A8 l) x) ~$ N5 o# j. P
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual * T1 D9 q5 c9 K7 E2 y6 m9 V: f
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers % C" J$ W! [$ b2 \; ~
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 4 Y. c" C1 ~) J
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ( V% Y0 C/ }4 b6 h% Y4 c
- evaluations 8 c( m; r; ?9 @9 R- g) n/ ]: c/ P2 x
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

& r1 D) w& ]" v: y1 {. J. k0 z( O- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education5 K" t% k& h2 q9 _) W$ P. L
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; e O3 k: d: c0 F- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services2 g6 b; g8 \& f
- leadership skills' Z5 ], p! Z7 L! A5 P% X; l& _
- management and supervision skills( y& k% l, ]3 l4 |; C# Y+ F- z. [" a
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
