Key Responsibilities

: c3 Z! m; i @; V: `- provide volunteers to update membership database, p2 S3 P' L1 `7 ?) j u6 Y
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
7 W' F0 K/ i5 e& y7 X( m3 P, G/ d- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
8 ]: U; t# ^ }- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
6 c" s: x s; r% V- provide volunteers for various programs " |7 ~1 P# q# d( r6 G
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual d L6 @6 L7 o- ?6 i
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
* k5 O; [4 a: v- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
9 {- n" X( L* S- j, U: }( z* s- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services9 e* _- q7 E' n3 }
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
' A5 B4 X. q# y( X: y- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed! R* d2 r R$ T9 B$ c" |& I
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed/ t) M @1 F% S( [! q$ Q
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
/ W( M/ |. N3 K$ H" ^- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 3 @3 J7 N3 ^, W0 S: ]
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 3 z, t$ m# R4 }+ i; p
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
+ H: l- z7 c' g0 g! j; g# s- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
' U$ F" E2 C* s5 O: O5 I- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis : f/ G j0 ~6 Z

5 _* q& e' |8 z0 l$ z7 n- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education' R) v! I: Y2 I0 i% ^* Z
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
# E4 i7 d& X% R' r' k+ l$ [2 [ h$ v- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services' M! c4 _7 r4 h# H8 X- Q5 w4 q
- leadership skills) Z. m5 m- [: G- a% l2 k
- management and supervision skills/ Q1 k; R( r0 n1 c0 p
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills/ D5 Z) D# K* N7 {# F/ i
