Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. ; q) _- I! 1 g4 x$ N( o; ]+ `' F• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person+ a2 X% T/ ~+ |6 e4 [1 \
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST* C8 o6 Y; N( a0 c9 `' z) o% v1 w% u4 L
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately9 j! a( @% `" E+ H g
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
) V& T/ [ [' t3 m1 s1 P+ Q0 v• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents) a& i! I9 Y1 r
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker# @$ D" U) K3 L4 J8 m/ p l
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events' g) u5 m {1 C" i9 F% \0 L5 Y2 b2 G
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
+ W! [. U' ?$ N/ H; \• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
% U2 f! J9 U1 K$ G• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
: c, m* ]+ V0 b* }% A$ L• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
; f/ a6 N) ^9 U• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
+ T) y% V; \* R• Good English writing and oral communication skills
( x2 Z1 d# r2 K• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients+ ~$ k' T- z+ z" i) }- y5 a! }: p
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
9 s% b, k, ^% ^" T$ B, x$ a• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
: D3 B* l# h) I' q" i% i• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

Qualifications:; S2 a. i4 I- c7 u$ p( m- ?
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience ( ~. X' R7 y" M" i$ F' T
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment1 c0 d) y' ?6 s. S
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
& i- E) Y: z5 e0 {+ x; m) `. S• Ability to work well under minimal supervision8 L* T2 _5 R6 i7 L; Q5 |
