Position Summary:
/ ^" ~" a! O& j# E+ o, vWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. % |) M7 `+ S* _4 h* P2 ~' U

Key Responsibilities:) O6 u9 u/ p% [6 D- W% L+ F
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
+ Z+ t; l1 H. [7 A3 e• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
0 j3 Q( k; Z$ A. r! l" F• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
0 b$ x: }* H& ^" m0 P0 `' Q7 {• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
. h: T( g$ x! s4 d& A9 B% {• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents' T; j- K* @2 R1 r$ _
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker5 N: t0 p! U3 ^' q$ Y
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events8 u X# J7 ~2 Q! Z- J; L4 M
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events# s7 `; _# [ ^0 F4 `. W# r; v
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean0 F8 W' W) q c8 N- b8 x
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters& D/ D. y! E% }2 k3 {8 I5 G$ G3 m
• Maintain front counter service files

H/ m/ k& `% L% z/ `7 ^Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
0 }8 \) N9 g k• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
* |/ B* i; [7 m7 A* z; u5 k# m4 b$ h• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
9 {0 A# c& R3 e. I- g• Good English writing and oral communication skills
% I. _- `6 z( n T• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients/ C. \, V4 G$ m7 Q
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
; ]' ]) z& l! F4 m9 b• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
, N! {+ z$ Q1 \& o• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience 7 d4 v) D3 Y4 I( ?: Y# u7 O
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
( ^$ i5 |! C7 c! m% |• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
/ B# J$ W# h, r" v8 L• Ability to work well under minimal supervision8 K3 ~9 O R+ o* D
